Daniel Rocha is dead
“Stop the murder of unarmed youth.” That was a
quote I heard during the protest against APD Officer Julie Schroeder, the police officer who killed a colored unarmed
youth named Daniel Rocha. Who do we trust to protect us when somebody is hurting, when they are hurting us?
When I got to the protest, I didn’t care about any thing else. I didn’t care about how
much I was sweating or about how thirsty I was. I remember how I saw the cars honking their horns to show that they supported
the protesters. All I cared about was Daniel Rocha’s death. If you where there, you would feel the protest move you.
What is happening to the world? In the bible it
reads that the world is going to end soon. I believe that we are all ending the world, by what is happening .Officers killing
youth, the wars going on all around us, and also the weapons that could kill a great amount of life. Each and every
person is precious, why kill?
I felt a great
amount passion for Daniel Rocha. I might not have met face to face with Daniel Rocha, but the protest was enough to get me
caring. I saw people crying who didn’t even know Daniel Rocha. There was so much power from different people’s
voices. Even young kids where getting into the protest screaming there there lungs out saying “Stop the murder of unarmed
youth”. Everybody was getting into the demonstration, everybody except the police department. Another thing I notice
about the police department was that they were watching us. While they were looking at us they where laughing
like this protest was worthless. It wasn’t worthless because we raised our
most powerful weapon, we raised our voice.
What A.P.D really stand for? Does it stand for Austin Police Department, Another Police Death,
or Abusing People Daily?
